Community, Growth and Acceptance – three words which encapsulate what I hope to bring to the Berowra community through yoga. I offer a range of classes to suit the beginner to more advanced practitioner:

Vinyasa Yoga

Linking breath with movement, this flow class mindfully builds strength and flexibility through a gradual progression that systematically and appropriately takes a student from one point and safely lands them at the next point. With a strong focus on pranayama (breath work) and meditation, each class can be modified to meet the needs of the individual student

Yin Yoga

If the world exists in balance, then incorporating some Yin classes will help round out and balance our busy “yang” lifestyles. While yang ‘vinyasa’ yoga exercises our muscles, yin yoga allows us to work the ‘yin tissues’ of our ligaments, joints, deep fascial networks and even our bones. Muscles respond well to rhythmic yang movement, moving the blood supply to promote more agility and strength. Joints however don’t respond in the same way to muscles, as they are not elastic due to their low fluid count. As we age, our natural range of motion lessens due to a decrease in all forms of moisture in the body. Yin yoga provides the perfect balance by preventing joint rigidity and immobility of ageing.

This practice involves long holds in restorative poses, and cultivates patience and stillness – qualities that help us work towards meditation and deep relaxation. Learn to surrender, discover the art of letting go, and experience profound releases in your body and mind through this quiet and peaceful practice. Yin classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to the experienced yogi.

Family Yoga – (to be confirmed later in the year) -expressions of interest accepted

Yoga can help your child feel more confident about their changing body, restless heart and ever-thoughtful minds. Parents and children come together to practice, connect and recharge. Family yoga is one inspiring hour filled with fun, stories, imagination and movement.
